Bullet-Ownership-Bill
Please help us "Stop The Bullet"
On Thursday Dec. 4th, 2008

We have found a loophole in State Law that permits Criminals to buy firearm ammunition legally. Felons have killed innocent children and adults; shooting at each other with ammunition that should not have been accessible to them.

Today the only requirement in North Carolina for buying handgun ammunition is that you are 18 years old and have an ID. Other states have changed their laws to address this problem and it's time for Durham to “Stop the Bullet”.

North Carolina ACORN will ask The Durham City Council To Stop The Bullet!

Gun violence costs not just lives; it also costs $2.3 billion each year in medical expenses with taxpayers footing the bill for half of that amount. A child age 17 or younger dies every five days as a result of a gun injury; stricter gun laws are needed to limit the accessibility of Ammunition.

Tell Them To Stop The Bullet!

We want to announce an effort to stop legal handgun ammunition sales to people that can not legally buy a gun across our state. We believe that preventing access to ammunition is just as important as preventing access to guns. We also believe that the Bullet Ownership Bill (BOB) is the best way to promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of the public by providing a system of identifying persons who are qualified to acquire or possess firearms and firearm ammunition within the state of North Carolina.
